Reflection on 2011

Well it’s been quite a year. A little tough at the start trying to get back into the swing of Melbourne after the “fantasy land” as I like to think of London. A definite change of pace but now I’ve fallen back in love with place.
I’ve never had as serious an injury as a ruptured Achilles tendon before. Never have I experienced so much rehabilitation. I hate to hazard a guess on how many trips to the physio I’ve gone to this year. I’m running jogging again though and that feels great. I’ve learned that I don’t enjoy swimming or perhaps chasing a black line on the bottom of the pool is not my thing. I’m keen to do a 15km run in April 2012 – the one I was due to do the day after I ruptured my Achilles playing hockey. On that subject I’m keen to get back to playing again – some say I’m a glutton for punishment but I really enjoy the team sports.
Work is keeping me busy and I’m really enjoying it on the whole, but looking back this time last year thinking what may be I had not imagined where we would be. I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved in such a short time.

2012 – more of the same but better? Who knows! Apart from my usual resolutions I think I’m setting one just to enjoy and experience what life throws up. Travel definitely.. To all my family and friends I wish you all the best for the coming year!
